Crimson Desert Fishing Guide: Catch Your First Fish Fast
Get ready to shred the radical waters of Crimson Desert, because we are breaking down exactly how to get the fishing rod and catch your first fish like an absolute arcade legend!
STEP 1
Loot the Free Basic Fishing Rod
- Walk south of the City of Hernand right after finishing the prologue
- Locate the riverbank with the NPC fishermen and a cow
- Loot the Basic Fishing Rod leaning against the wooden barrels and crates
STEP 2
Bind and Equip the Fishing Rod
- Open your inventory and select the Fishing Rod to override your Bow slot
- Press and hold D-Pad Left or F2 to open the equipment radial wheel
- Cycle to the bottom-right slot using L2 / R2 or Scroll
- Release D-Pad Left or F2 to equip the rod to your active hands
STEP 3
Cast Line and Hook the Fish
- Locate deep, debris-free water with visible swimming fish models
- Hold L2 or Q to display the blue targeting circle
- Aim into open space away from terrain and release L2 or Left-Click to cast
- Listen and watch for three distinct white splashes or the screen prompt
- Instantly press R2 or Right-Click to hook the fish
STEP 4
Exhaust and Reel the Catch
- Do NOT reel immediately or your line will instantly snap
- Press and hold Left Stick or WASD opposite to the fish
- Wait for the splashing to completely stop and the line to go still
- Rapidly rotate Right Stick or scroll Scroll Wheel to reel
- Instantly stop reeling if splashing begins again and resume pulling opposite
