STEP 1
Step 1: Farm Bones or Buy Fine Meat
- Equip your bow and use Hold Left Click or Hold R2 for Charged Shots to farm river birds or deer for Small and Large Bones.
- Visit the Hernand Butcher and purchase Fine Meat or Lean Meat directly if you have 15-50 Silver to spare per chunk.
- Stockpile enough raw meat and bones to yield a total of 100 Trust points.
STEP 2
Step 2: Isolate and Drop Food for the Target Dog
- Locate your target dog spawn at the Riverbank Start Zone, Hernand Town center square, or the Hernand Castle North Freeswords tent.
- Isolate the dog away from crowded areas to prevent thief AI and rival dogs from stealing the dropped food items.
- Open your inventory using I or Start / Options.
- Highlight your raw food and use Hold X or Hold Square to discard and drop 1 item on the ground for the dog to eat.
STEP 3
Step 3: Pet the Dog and Skip Time
- Approach the dog and press Hold E or Hold X / Hold Square to pet it up to 5 times per day.
- Locate a nearby Inn Bed or Campfire.
- Interact with the rest area and use Press F or Press Y / Press Triangle to execute the Pass Time command.
- Skip time past Midnight to successfully reset the daily Trust cap for petting and feeding.
STEP 4
Step 4: Adopt and Summon the Auto-Loot Dog
- Approach the dog once you hit 100 Trust points and press Hold E or Hold X / Hold Square to trigger the Take In command.
- Open your inventory, navigate to the Pets Tab, select your new dog, and press Enter or Press A / Press Cross to Summon.
- Expand your backpack slots at Lioncrest Manor or town vendors immediately to handle the massive volume of auto-looted ground items.
- Manually re-summon your pet from the menu if you press T or Up D-Pad to mount a horse, as mounting forces a pet despawn.
