How to Tame Bears and Get the Permanent Mount in Crimson Desert

If you are surviving the brutal lands of Crimson Desert and want to know exactly how to tame the bear, lock in, because we are about to break down everything you need to secure your massive new mount.

STEP 1

Locate a Wild Bear Spawn

  • Search Greenfield Highlands directly adjacent to the Grace Estate Abyss Nexus for a guaranteed bear spawn exactly every 24 in-game hours.
  • Check the Hernand Highlands south of Hernand near the first Abyss Nexus to find a bear sleeping inside a den on an elevated rock ledge.
  • Scout the northern snowy forest biome of Pailune for random wild bear spawns.
  • Execute a manual save immediately before initiating the fight to avoid waiting for respawn timers if the tame fails.

STEP 2

Deplete Health and Mount the Wild Bear

  • Engage the bear in combat and deplete its health until it stops attacking and staggers.
  • Stop attacking instantly once staggered, as missing the strict 2-3 second window and hitting it again will kill the bear.
  • Hold Square (PlayStation) / X (Xbox) / E (Keyboard) when the "Ride" prompt appears to mount the beast.
  • Keep in mind that standard wild bears are strictly temporary mounts and instantly turn hostile the second you dismount.
  • Press RT / R2 (Controller) or Left-Click (Mouse) while mounted to execute a wide claw attack that absorbs all incoming enemy damage.
  • Sprint on all fours to rapidly replenish the bear's stamina during combat or traversal.

STEP 3

Defeat and Skin the Legendary White Bear

  • Travel to Five-Finger Mountain in the Pailune region by going directly West from the "S" in the "Silver Wolf Mountain" text on the world map.
  • Do not attempt to tame this variant; you must kill the Legendary White Bear in combat.
  • Press Square / X over the carcass to skin it.
  • Collect the White Bear Claw key item that drops from the carcass.

STEP 4

Craft the Sigil of Solidarity

  • Travel to any Witch NPC, such as Elowen located in the Witchwoods.
  • Select "Craft Abyss Gear" from the dialogue menu.
  • Press R2 / RT to tab over to the "Special Item" category.
  • Spend 1x White Bear Claw and 0 Gold to craft the Sigil of Solidarity (White Bear).
STEP 5

Equip and Summon the Permanent Bear Mount

  • Open your Inventory and select "Use" on the Sigil of Solidarity (White Bear) to unlock the permanent summon.
  • Hold D-Pad Down to open the Character Wheel.
  • Push the Right Stick to highlight the mount icon.
  • Press R2 / RT to cycle your active mount from the horse to the White Bear.
  • Release the button sequence to instantly summon your new permanent bear mount.
  • Press R1 + R2 while mounted on the Legendary variant to execute devastating heavy mount attacks.
